HSE Tops Ranking of Universities Participating in Priority 2030 Programme

The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education has published an updated list of participants in the Priority 2030 programme. A total of 106 universities will receive support this year. HSE University was included in the first group and topped the ranking.

The 3rd Interdisciplinary Conference "Exploring the Deaf Community – 2025: On the Periphery of Attention" was held at the GES-2 Community Center.
From October 17-19, 2025, the 3rd Interdisciplinary Conference   "Studying the Deaf Community – 2025: On the Periphery of Attention"  was held at the GES-2 Community Center. It was organized with the participation of the International Laboratory for Social Integration Research. Speakers from 20 countries participating, presenting over 90 papers on the culture, languages, and experiences of the deaf community. The RDC-2025 laboratory team also presented four studies prepared over the past year. These studies focused on the social structure of deaf society, the formation of deaf identity in bilingual education based on the archives of a Moscow gymnasium, sign singing in deaf culture and its perception by deaf and hard of hearing people, and clubs as a center for the development of deaf culture.

On October 16, 2025, Forbes Education published its list of the top 20 Russian universities with the best employer reputation in 2025. The ranking was based on a survey of leading Russian employers, who named the higher education institutions whose graduates they consider the most well-prepared and are most inclined to hire. HSE University took first place in the ranking.

HSE Scientists: Social Cues in News Interfaces Build Online Trust
Researchers from the HSE Laboratory for Cognitive Psychology of Digital Interface Users have discovered how social cues in the design of news websites—such as reader comments, the number of reposts, or the author’s name—can help build user trust. An experiment with 137 volunteers showed that such interface elements make a website appear more trustworthy and persuasive to users, with the strongest cue being links to the media’s social networks. The study's findings have been published in Human-Computer Interaction.

The GES-2 Community Center, together with the International Laboratory for Social Integration Studies at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, announces the start of accepting applications for the Third Annual Interdisciplinary Conference “Exploring the Deaf Community”. The event will take place from October 17 to 19, 2025, and will focus on the diversity of life experiences of the deaf community, including understudied groups such as deaf-blind people, late-onset deafened people, hearing parents of deaf children, and others.
