The rainy season, shorter days, and the return to routine after holidays often pose a challenge to our psychological well-being. But is it possible to transform autumn melancholy and a sense of chaos into a resource for personal growth? IQ Media explored how to approach this period with conscious inner adjustment and learn to cope with anxiety and stress.

On October 10, 2025, the central atrium of HSE University’s Pokrovka campus hosted the Day of Russian Culture. Students of HSE International Prep Year programme had the opportunity to explore Russia’s traditions, art, and customs, as well as sample national delicacies. As always, the event was organised by HSE University’s Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni.

On October 9–10, the first-ever HSE International Alumni Reunion brought together graduates from various cohorts and programmes—now working in Russia and abroad—along with representatives of HSE University and its industry partners. The event included a tour of the campus, a business game, and a cultural festival. The participants exchanged experiences, reflected on their career paths, and discussed labour market challenges.

Practicing and teaching yoga, chilling in Moscow parks, writing academic papers, travelling around Russia, and volunteering—these are only a few of the things HSE international students have tried over their summer break. Now, as they are getting back to studies, the students reflect on their summer experiences in academic work, professional development, travel, and leisure.

Since its creation, the educational program “Population and Development” has enrolled a total of 127 students, coming from 29 different countries and from this number six countries represent the continent of Africa. The African countries are made up of the Republic of Ghana, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Cameroon, the United Republic of Tanzania, the Republic of Kenya, and the Republic of the Sudan. Amongst these countries, Ghana has the highest student population share at 62.5%, and next to Ghana is Nigeria at 32.5% of the entire African student population. We talked to African students who study at “Population and Development” to find out where they learned about the educational program, what they like most about studying process and how the knowledge gained at the HSE can help them in the development of academic career.

The application period for HSE’s Student Research Paper Competition has started. The winners will have an opportunity to take part in workshops on academic skills development, while those in state-financed studies will improve their chances of seeing their academic scholarships increased. Also, in addition in HSE students, learners from other academic institutions are eligible for this competition.
