On June 19, graduates of the Bachelor's in Computational Social Sciences, launched in 2022, received their at the HSE University's Cultural Centre. All the graduates have completed in-depth training in a social science discipline while developing advanced competencies in data analysis and mathematical modelling.

Last year, Stephen Sodoke, a master's student on the Population and Development programme at the Vishnevsky Institute of Demography, HSE University, won the Student Research Paper Competition. This year, as a recent HSE graduate, he has published two articles in first-quartile journals and secured a PhD position at the University of Sydney. After graduating from the Vishnevsky Institute of Demography at HSE University, Asem Aldangarkyzy worked at the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Now she is an employee of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Asem Aldangarkyzy gave an interview in which she shared details about choosing a master's programme, the educational process at HSE University, and her academic and professional activities.

On October 9–10, the first-ever HSE International Alumni Reunion brought together graduates from various cohorts and programmes—now working in Russia and abroad—along with representatives of HSE University and its industry partners. The event included a tour of the campus, a business game, and a cultural festival. The participants exchanged experiences, reflected on their career paths, and discussed labour market challenges.

Ekaterina Melianova and Artem Volgin, both graduates of the Master’s Programme Applied Statistics with Network Analysis, took second place in two CDP competitions: the Unlocking Climate Solutions Kaggle Competition and the COVID-19 Symptom Data Challenge. In the coronavirus-related data competition, the HSE graduates outperformed professors and PhD students of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, the University of Washington, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and other foreign universities.

The 2017 HSE Alumni Awards will shortly be open for nominations. The awards were founded in 2007 to recognise HSE graduates who have achieved professional success in the corporate sphere or their own businesses. Over the years, the winners have included Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Economic Development, Ilya Azar and Tonia Samsonova, journalists, Ksenia Mokrushina, Director of the Centre of Urban Studies at Skolkovo Moscow School of Management, and Vladimir Potapov, CEO at VTB Capital, among others.
