On March 22, HSE’s School of Psychology organized a talk by Professor Geoffrey Saxe, from Graduate School at UC Berkeley, on Cultural Development of Mathematical Ideas. The talk was based on the results of Prof. Saxe’s expedition to Papua New Guinea where he studied a remote Mountain Ok community. In his interview with HSE News Service Professor Saxe talks about his research.


Over the last three years, Associate Professor Daniil Tsygankov from the HSE Institute of Public Administration and Governance has been studying how the Netherlands, Germany and Russia all introduce the standard cost model, a promising tool for assessing the impact of state regulation on business. Today he will be sharing his experience, gained from conferences, placements, field and practical work in this area.
The Higher School of Economics has entered the Expert Analytical Centre’s ranking in 10 subjects. The ranking studies the research productivity of Russian universities. In five subject areas, the university has taken first position in the ranking.

The Russian Science Foundation has announced the most recent winners of three-year grants for scientific research. Among the recipients are a number of projects carried out by scientists at the Higher School of Economics.
