Revolutions Dataset V1.1 (2000-2024)

The database on revolutionary events of the 21st century was prepared as part of the project "Quantitative analysis and forecasting of the risks of socio-political destabilization in the countries of the Afrasian macrozone of instability". The project is supported by the Russian Science Foundation (project No. 18-18-00254-P).

The database describes the revolutionary events of the 21st century (from 2000 to 2024 in version 1.1) according to various characteristics: chronological, geographical, type of protesters' tactics, goals and degree of success. The first sheet in the database presents a list of episodes and their characteristics. The second sheet contains the database in panel form (the unit of observation is no longer an episode, but a country-year). A separate file contains a codebook for the database, with a description of the database and definitions of the coded variables.
