Seminar on Qualitative Research Strategies in IR Held at Shaninka

Experts from HSE and Shaninka discussed various approaches to qualitative research in international security, including discourse network analysis and deconstruction. They also explored the broader methodological, epistemological, and ontological issues related to critical theory in International Relations (IR). Roundtable participants and student researchers exchanged views on how these methods could be used to analyze the evolution of Russian foreign policy strategy and the 1991 and 2003 US invasions of Iraq.
