Seminar on Discourse Research Strategies Held by HSE Working Group

The Working Group on the discursive dimension of foreign policymaking hosted a seminar titled "Discursive Legitimation of Policy Change: Energy Transitions and Foreign Policy Strategy." The event took place on Tuesday, March 26, at 13:00, in Room 224 at Myasnitskaya Street, 20.

Sergey Kondratiev, a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the Higher School of Economics, shared insights on various methods for approaching the study of discourse, emphasizing the importance of defining and justifying discourse boundaries and their relationship to analysis methods. WG’s head, Mihail Ilyin, during the discussion brought to light epistemological and linguistic foundations of discourse research. Finally, the participants applied these insights to WG’s ongoing research.
