HSE Russian Discourses on National Security Working Group — First Research Assignment Seminar
On December 18th, the Working Group on the discursive aspect of Russian foreign policy will host its third seminar. The seminar on 18th of December will take place at the Myasnitskaya, 11, 508 auditorium at 18:00.
This seminar will specifically be devoted to a newly initiated project that will serve as the basis for student-led research on the discursive elements of Russia's national security strategy in the 21st century. The project itself aims to map the discursive structures underlying Russia's foreign policy from 2000 to 2024 by collecting a database of relevant speech acts by Russian policy-makers and policy-shapers as well as state and non-state organizations related to national security.
The seminar aims to offer technical guidance to students engaged in an initial research effort and will feature discussions led by the Working Group's leaders, focusing on the database’s methodology, project’s research design, and WG’s planned activities spanning from December 2023 to the summer of 2024.
