The Research and Study Group 'Comparative Study of the Situation of Women and Men in Public Authorities' was established in 2018. The group focuses on differences between common career trajectories of men and women in public administration. We aim to compare the roles and status of men and women in the Russian government with their roles in foreign governments. The results will enable us to make recommendations for the human capacity development of male and female government employees.

On December 25, a Christmas seminar of the scientific and educational group was held, at which Tatyana A. On May 22, students of the Master's Program 'Population and Development' and and 'Comparative Social Research' took part in the round table 'Violence in the modern society and the fight against it' within the course 'Gender and Development'. Guest experts took part in the round table: founder and the director of the NGO 'Center for dealing with the problem of violence "Nasiliu.net" ("Stop.Violence")' and a lawyer from Consortium of Women’s NGOs Valentina Frolova.

Gender and Governance International Conference at the University of Helsinki
On March 28-29th, the Gender and Governance International Conference, jointly organized by the Aleksanteri Institute (University of Helsinki) and the Research group 'Comparative Study of the Situation of Women and Men in Public Authorities' from the Faculty of Social Sciences of Higher School of Economics (Moscow), was held in Helsinki. Members and Heads of the HSE study group and researchers and professors from the University of Helsinki presented their reports at the event.
