The reason for the study was the acute—as is almost always the case—question of how to find and recruit respondents. The focus was on the platforms Anketolog.ru, Yandex.Tasks, and various online panels (OMI, RussianField). Yandex.Tasks traditionally causes a lot of controversy: the service is often perceived as less reliable. The arguments are based on the socio-demographic characteristics of the audience involved in platform employment: according to critics, such respondents are less socially well-off, more likely to support public authorities, prone to alcohol consumption, and live in small towns. As part of the project, we decided to test these stereotypes.

Although our laboratory regularly uses Yandex.Tasks, we rarely went beyond the basic socio-demographic characteristics of respondents. In the new study, we filled this gap and learned a lot about the platform's users, dispelling many stereotypes.

Asya Fomicheva, Polina Sokolova, and Nikita Bogachev spoke at the seminar. We were happy to discuss the preliminary results with our colleagues and thank all participants for their interest and questions.
