Workshops at ECPR Joint Sessions are closed gatherings of 15-20 participants, which last for about five days. Topics of discussion are precisely defined by a paper or research document for discussion. HSE's publishing house has published the Russian version of the Oxford University Press textbook 'Democratization' edited by Christian Haerpfer, Patrick Bernhagen, Ronald Inglehart and Christian Welzel.

From the 18th to 21st February the biggest American (in fact international — like the American Association of Political Science) professional association of researchers in international relations, global politics and comparative politics, the International Studies Association held it’s 56th annual convention, this time in New Orleans. As in recent years, more than 6,000 participants came from all over the world.
On 31st January to 2nd February 2015 HSE held its annual International Winter School. The Department of Public Policy and Master Programme in Political Analysis and Public Policy headed by professor Nina Belyaeva took part in the event. The Winter School welcomed participants from Germany, France, China, Japan and other countries.
On 12 January, Chares Demetriou presented his book The Dynamics of Radicalization: A Relational and Comparative Perspective at a seminar of the Laboratory for Economic-Sociological Research. In his lecture, Demetriou presented new ways of analysing the radicalisation of political groups. In this research, group radicalization is being examined rather than individual radicalization which is untypical of work in this particular field.
From the 8th - 10th January, teachers at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences Olga Savinskaya and Elizaveta Polukhina, and HSE graduate Anastasia Poilova took part in the The Qualitative Report Sixth Annual Conference organised by the international peer-reviewed journal Qualitative Report.
On December 9, as part of a seminar run by the HSE’s Laboratory for Studies in Economic Sociology, there was an opportunity to meet Kyungmin Baek, new Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Sociology, who joined HSE in September 2014. In a report about South Korean firms’ comprehensive adoption of the ISO 14001 environmental standard, Baek explained how businesses’ motivation has changed.
Representatives of public administration faculties and departments from some of the world’s leading universities recently met in Madrid, and representatives from the HSE took part in the event. The participants discussed the coordination of research and development of educational programmes in social policy management.
