Special issue of journal "Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes"
On July 2, a special issue of the journal " Monitoring of Public Opinion: Economic and Social Changes " dedicated to the topic work-life balance was published.
The guest editor was Olga Isupova, the head of the Research and study group, who together with Elena Rozhdestvenskaya (HSE, Faculty of Social Sciences, Analysis of Social Institutions Department, Doctor of Sciences in Theory, History and Methods of Sociology) gave an introductory article. In the introductory article, the authors indicate the relevance of the chosen topic and describe the main topics of the journal. The issue raises a variety of themes related to the balance of life and work: from the issues of work-life balance in certain areas of activity to consideration of the prospects for maintenance of work-life balance at the state level. In particular, the issue deals with the gender aspects of the search for a balance of life and work.
In addition, the scientific journal published an article by Olga Isupova "The balance of life and work of women police officers in the Vologda region". The researcher focuses on identifying ways to maintain a life-work balance between female police officers and male police officers. Based on the analysis of interviews with 25 employees, differences in policewomen and policemen strategies for finding a balance between life and work are shown. It is concluded that female police officers tend to maintain a balance of life and work by combining work and family employment, while police officers are more work-oriented.
