Ekaterina Chemankova participated in Young Researchers Conference

Ekaterina Chemankova, participant of the RSG and student of educational programme "Public Administration", presented her report on "Women in law enforcement: the choice of profession and the problems that arise in the performance of the service" during the Psychology section.


The speaker outlined the main reasons for choosing a profession among law enforcement officers: a dream (52%) and job search difficulties (30%). The main problem for work in this area is the conflict between family and work (52% of respondents), often caused by a non-standardized working day (48%).

The data was collected by Olga Isupova in 2016-2017 in the Vologda region (Vologda, Vytegra). Twenty-three informants were interviewed (in-depth interviews, focus groups). The content analysis was conducted by E. Chemankova.
