From Spain’s Basque Country to Moscow, an HSE Research Fellow Studies Human Memory and Metamemory
After receiving her PhD in Psychology from the University of the Basque Country, Beatriz Martín-Luengo arrived in Moscow in 2015 to join the Centre for Cognition & Decision Making at HSE as a Research Fellow. Since then, she has pursued research interests that focus on the ecological study of human memory (i.e., variables that affect our recollection) and metamemory, which is the introspective knowledge of one's own memory capabilities (and strategies that can aid memory) and the processes involved in memory self-monitoring.

Running a Comparative Empirical Programme in Social Research

Christian Fröhlich is Assistant Professor at the School of Sociology who has been at HSE since 2014. He also supervises an English-taught Master’s Programme ‘Comparative Social Research’. Currently Joe MacInnes is teaching Psychology courses on Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes offered by Faculty of Social Sciences. In February, together with HSE doctoral students Mikhail Pokhoday  and Ekaterina Gordienko, he conducted an intensive workshop on eye tracking for students of Master’s programme 'Cognitive Sciences and Technologies: From Neuron to Cognition' and everyone interested in the topic. The workshop covered basic principles of eye tracking, introduction to eye tracking hardware and practical sessions.

An exhibition of his photographs taken in many different countries including North Korea opened on December 10 on the 4th Floor (British 3rd) at 9/11 Myasnitskaya Ulitsa.
