Marina Pilkina and Artem Uldanov presented the preliminary results of the work of their groups at the conference of the European Consortium for Political Research.

Both presentations were made as part of the "Addressing Rationality and Irrationality in Policy Process Theories" panel. Marina's presentation was devoted to the role of NGOs in the formation of the environmental agenda in Russia. The authors analyzed the involvement of regional NGOs in environmental debates and how these organizations formulated problems and solutions in their materials. The second presentation was devoted to the high-profile case of the alleged poisoning of opposition politician Alexei Navalny and his return to Russia. The authors emphasized the level of the intensity of the debate, the mythologization of the events that took place and the growing number of manipulations that reduce political issues to binary oppositions.
