The School of Politics and Governance brings together professors, researchers, and lecturers of the courses in Political Science and Public Administration offered to the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Faculty's degree programmes, where our staff members teach, are EAPAA and ZEvA accredited. Thanks to the research and publication activity of the School’s faculty members, HSE University ranks among the world’s top 100 universities in the QS Politics & International Studies subject ranking. Within this ranking, it ranks highest among Russian universities. HSE University also ranks among the top 100 universities in the QS Social Sciences & Management ranking.

Andrei Yakovlev, Professor of the School of Politics and Governance and Director of the Institute for Industrial and Market Studies of HSE University has been named a Research Ambassador at the University of Bremen (Germany). He was appointed by the Rectorate of the University at the suggestion of the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics.
Professor Yakovlev will represent the University in Russia and Eastern Europe and act as a liaison between any prospective students and researchers and the University of Bremen.
From July 2002 - September 2003, Andrei Yakovlev worked as a visiting research fellow at the Research Centre for East European Studies at the University of Bremen under the aegis of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He has been in close touch with the University of Bremen since then. Professor Yakovlev continues to collaborate with the Faculty of Business Studies and Economics, the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as with the Research Centre for East European Studies.
The Research Ambassadors Program was first launched at the University of Bremen in order to build a community of former students and researchers of the University and also establish and strengthen an international network. At present, 11 members from various countries and disciplines have been appointed as Research Ambassadors.
