Public Policy at Winter School

During four years that the school has been functioning, Public Policy Department has been inviting not only Russian students but also foreign participants interested in enrolling in Public Policy Master's programme at HSE. Working language of Public Policy school is always English, which helps attract an international and multicultural team of participants.Traditionally, participants have a possibility to not only listen to lectures of Russian and foreign leading professors, but also take part in project teamwork and trainings.
During the school, the participants  develop problem-formulating skills in the area of Public Policy, to analyze various issues and give recommendations to decision-makers. Group work provides useful insight into conducting analytical work and enables participants to become a think-tank for the period of Winter School.

During the February Winter School, you will get more information about our faculty and department – we will be happy to present our Master's Programme Political Analysis and Public Policy.
The students during their brief yet intensive programme which combines theory and skill-based knowledge will gain the necessary exposure to the programme. The school will help you prepare for next year's admissions round. Political Analysis and Public Policy programme is one of the most sought-after Master’s Programmes – on a par with Finance, Management and Computer Science programmes. The programme attracts both fresh graduates as well as mid-level executives from western and eastern countries.

The study of public policy has been gaining popularity world-wide for the past decade and a half. Our Master's programme in Public Policy is taught entirely in English by distinguished professors from Oxford University, Lee Kuan Yeu School of Public Policy Singapore, Cambridge University and other reputable institutions. Last year we received over one hundred applications from the all over the world.

My participation in the 2015 international Winter School that was organized by HSE was very hilarious experience because I had the chance to meet a lot of people from different countries as well as be part of high level lectures presented by leading Russian specialists and researchers. This WS was held in a hotel outside of Moscow where everything was well organized in terms of rooms for workshops and discussions. We were privileged to be part of all the HSE departments’ presentations of the Bachelors/master programs especially Public Policy and Political Analysis master program which was presented by the head of the department Prof, Nina Belyaeva, Prof Sanjay and Prof Dimitry Zaytsev. They moderated workshops and seminars regarding different aspects. I really enjoyed the workshops we did because we had the chance to came across different issues such as '' what's wrong with the world'' workshop, here we discussed a massive of issues happening in the world and we tried to give solutions as we were international students we shared our common problems we have back home. This experience helped me as well explore Russia’s exotic culture and the beautiful Moscow. The international Winter School was also my platform to know about the master program and to get enrolled in Public Policy and Political Analysis master program 2015-2017.
