Asya Istomina presented Neuropsy Lab at the international conference Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society in Loughborough, UK

Asya Istomina participated in the 6th annual conference of the Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society (MCLS), which took place from June 5th to 8th  in Loughborough, United Kingdom.

Within the conference, Asya presented a paper called “Neural correlates of subtraction and multiplication in adolescents”. This report is devoted to the research of neural mechanisms associated with solving mathematical tasks by adolescents.

The conference brought together scientists, studying different aspects of mathematical cognition, the development of mathematical skills, and their connections with other cognitive functions. Topics discussed during the event included dyscalculia, mathematical anxiety, choice of problem-solving strategies in mathematical tasks(?), and the role of emotions and biases in mathematical discourse.

In addition to presentations, mentoring sessions and workshops were held at the conference.
