Public views of and responses to renewable energy development

Anna Devenish discussed public views on renewable energy projects, local resistance to sustainable energy infrastructure and its possible reasons. In her presentation, she talked about factors that shape public perceptions of and community responses to renewable energy projects. In addition, she presented results of the research on the effect of values, environmental concern, climate change beliefs, and citizen perceptions of energy scarcity, as well as socioeconomic status and information sources, on familiarity with renewable energy sources. Cross-cultural aspects and practical implications of the research were discussed with seminar participants.
