Professor Vilfredo De Pascalis took part in the research seminar of Scientific-Research Group of Cognitive Pscychophysiology

On June 26, Vilfredo De Pascalis, professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of "La Sapienza" University of Rome, delivered a lecture "Neurocognitive Brain Potentials associated with Behavioral Inhibition, Behavioral Activation and Fight-Flight-Freeze systems" at the research seminar of the Cognitive Psychophysiology Laboratory.

Vilfredo  De Pascalis is a cognitive and affective neuroscientist, who investigates personality and individual differences, cognitive and affective control, and hypnosis modulation of pain in healthy individuals using behavioural and EEG methods (ERPs, EEG oscillations, low resolution imaging by sLORETA), and autonomic responses (evoked heart rate, skin conductance, heart rate variability).

In the lecture Vilfredo De Pascalis reported findings of four studies carried out the Laboratory of Psychophysiology of Individual Differences and Cognitive-Emotional Processing (PIDCEP) investigating neurocognitive properties of behavioural inhibition and behavioural activation, and fight-flight-freeze systems (BIS/BAS and FFFS).

The lecture was attended by HSE staff and students, as well as members of other research and educational institutions.
