The School of Politics and Governance brings together professors, researchers, and lecturers of the courses in Political Science and Public Administration offered to the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences. Faculty's degree programmes, where our staff members teach, are EAPAA and ZEvA accredited. Thanks to the research and publication activity of the School’s faculty members, HSE University ranks among the world’s top 100 universities in the QS Politics & International Studies subject ranking. Within this ranking, it ranks highest among Russian universities. HSE University also ranks among the top 100 universities in the QS Social Sciences & Management ranking.

HSE ranked 48th at QS World University Rankings in Politics and International Relations

This year in the QS World University Rankings by Faculty & Subject ranking, the Higher School of Economics is represented in 4 out of 5 general raings and 19 out of 38 subject ratings. But the most impressive results are at the Faculty of Social Sciences!
The most significant achievement is 48th place in the world in the subject of Politics & International Relations. This is the highest position that HSE has ever taken among all QS subject ratings. At the same time, this is also the highest Russian rating for this subject.
In the subject ‘Sociology’, we have a stable position in the top 100 (and continue to have first place in Russia for three consecutive years).
For the first time this year, the Higher School of Economics has been included in the QS rating for the subject ‘Social Policy & Administration’ and immediately placed in the first hundred. It is the only Russian university in this rating.
We also grew in the rankings for the subject ‘Psychology’, having ended up in the top 200 world universities. HSE also became the only Russian university to conduct research and train specialists in the field of psychology that placed between 151-200 in the rankings.
In the ‘Education’ rating, we have maintained our position in the top 150 in the world ratings and 1st place in Russia.
HSE also ranks in the top 100 in the broad subject area of Social Sciences & Management, where it rose to 59th place from last year's 75th.
