Speaker: Maria Mikhailovna Dzyubenko, PhD student, intern researcher at the Laboratory of the Psychology of the salutogenic Environment.
Moderator: Sofia Kimovna Nartova-Bochaver, Doctor of Psychology, Head of the Laboratory of the Psychology of the Salutogenic Environment, Professor of the Department of the Psychology of the Salutogenic Environment at the National Research University Higher School of Economics

The main topic of the seminar is the role of physical, social and organizational resources in maintaining work engagement. The results of a theoretical review, the results of previous studies on the relationship between a "healthy" office and work engagement, and a program for future research, taking into account different resources of passion, will be presented.

Work engagement is a positive work–related state of mind characterized by energy, dedication, and absorption. The Job Demands – Resources model shows that working conditions (social and organizational factors) can be resources for maintaining engagement, but the physical office environment – as a direct basis for work process – is practically not considered in this context.

At the same time, the results of the theoretical review and our individual studies show that the friendliness and especially the restorative power of the office environment makes a significant contribution to work engagement.

The workshop will discuss the available results and present a program for deeper empirical research, which will test the interaction of different resources and assess the strength of their contribution to engagement, considering physical resources. This study makes an important contribution to the study of the topic of healthy built environments, which is one of the main topics in the psychology of the salutogenic environment.
