Scientific Questrom for children in Neuropsy Lab made by the University for Children (the Polytechnic Museum)

Our colleagues – Yulia Sudorgina, Anastasiia Liashenko, Valentina Bachurina and Alexey Kotov – in collaboration with the Polytechnic Museum provided a scientific and educational program for children of 7 to 12 years old. The program took place in the new lab space.

Young visitors learnt about research on cognitive development and took part in the Quest “Why do not we notice the elephant in the room?”. The participants discovered how our attention works, why could not we see something important or even big around ourselves; how magicians succeed in persuading people and how it is possible to train yourself and become more attentive.

During the visit our guests assembled the model of the brain and conducted experiments to understand how attention can be manipulated. Children also measured their own attentional capacity using eye-tracking.
