Neuropsy Lab continues to educate children at Moscow schools about modern brain research in the field of cognitive sciences

Laboratory for the Neurobiological Foundations of Cognitive Development holds lectures in Moscow schools as a part of the "Meet a Scientist" project. Andrei Faber with the head of laboratory Marie Arsalidou visited school 1517 in northwestern Moscow. As part of the “Brain and Mathematics” lecture, students from grades 8–11 learnt how the human brain works, which parts of the brain are involved in solving mathematical problems, and they took an opportunity to ask scientists questions.

Students of school 1517 showed great interest in brain research, asked a lot of interesting and complex questions about its work and structure in both Russian and English. During the lecture, all students were given the opportunity to hold in their hands and study a real scale demountable model of the brain. In addition, students took part in a mini-test, which assesses how attentive they were during the lecture, and also provides information to the lecturers on how easy the material was perceived, what students liked the most and how the lecture can be improved. School also covered this event on the website.
